Call Me Crazy, But I Think I'd Get Out . . .


Beachgoers were ordered not to enter the water at Pukehina Beach in New Zealand when a bronze whaler shark was seen circling the area, but get this... despite the warnings some people continued to swim! WTF?

Croc Attack!


A 46-year-old man has lost his arm while his 13 year-old son suffered multiple injuries after being attacked by a crocodile on Lake Kariba in Africa. The croc tried to drag the man out of his canoe, then it pounced on his son who was trying to help him! Believe it or not, they both survived. Well, except for that arm thing.

Woman Marries Dolphin!


Sharon Tendler, a 41-year-old Jewish millionaire from London married her beloved Cindy, a 35-year-old dolphin on Wednesday. At the end of the ceremony, Sharon whispered "I love you" into her new husband's blow hole.

Why Does This Make Me Think Of The KKK?

Yeah, They're Cute Until They Grow Up


A foot-long reptile, first believed to be a baby alligator, was found in a dumpster at the Mystic Seaport Mobil gas station on Monday evening. Turns out it was actually a South American Dwarf Caiman which apparently grow up to 5-feet in length and are pretty aggressive. They're guessing it was probably someone's pet until it started getting too big to manage. Good thing it was found found before it went all Surface on us!

The male blanket octopus is a chubby chaser! The female weighs at least 10,000 times as much as her mate and sometimes up to 40,000 times as much! And guess what... the male dies right after they do it.

The Oregon surfer who fended off a great white shark on Christmas Eve by punching it in the nose said he learned the tactic by watching television shows like "Shark Week." I've learned something from those shows too... stay out of the water.

Doh!


A diver is in intensive care after accidentally shooting himself in the chest with a speargun Thursday afternoon. The spear apparently just went off by itself as he was coming out of the surf! He had an emergency operation to remove the spear which was lodged 4" deep in his chest. Ouch!

Shark! The Herald Angels Sing . . .


A man was attacked by a 10-foot great white shark while surfing off the northern Oregon coast this very Christmas Eve! The 30-year-old surfer was bitten on his ankle and calf and yes, there was lots of blood. He was taken to Providence Seaside Hospital.

Just In Time For Christmas!


Box jellyfish are due to arrive in Oahu waters today and tomorrow, and lifeguards are advising beachgoers to stay out of the water to avoid getting stung. Hopefully, Santa will be putting The Stinger Suit in everyone's stocking.

A trout with two mouths was caught last weekned in a Nebraska lake! The man who caught the freak fish says his plans for it don't include mounting. He's gonna smoke it and eat it. I guess with two mouths you're bound to get hooked.

Now That's Loyalty


An alligator was heading straight for Cindy Hernandez as she was swimming off her dock along the Hillsborough River in Florida! But, before the alligator could reach her, her dog Bob swam in between them. Bob was killed, while Hernandez was able to swim to safety. That dog's either a saint or just real dumb.

Movie producers have assured Katherine residents that the croc monster flick Rogue, starring Radha Mitchell and Michael Vartan will not scare tourists away. They've even promised to add a line to the end credits stating there aren't really any saltwater crocodiles in Katherine Gorge.

Maui Owie!


A 29-year-old San Diego man lost a pinky and part of his ring finger when a shark attacked him Wednesday morning. He was swimming just 200 yards off shore at Keawakapu Beach in Maui when a shark bit his left hand! Ow! A helicopter spotted a 10 to 12 foot tiger shark in the area immediately following the attack. Lifeguards closed the beach.

Researchers have hit the jellyfish jackpot! They stumbled onto a stinger breeding ground this week at Double Island, Australia where thousands of Irukandji jellyfish were living. Hopefully, they can find an antidote for jellyfish stings now!

Apparently, Squid Are Good Mommies


Squid have always been considered poor parents: they lay their eggs on the seafloor and leave them to develop on their own. But a University of Rhode Island scientist has learned otherwise. He observed five squid each carrying thousands of eggs in their arms to protect them.

Don't Go Swimming In Durban Bay!


A fisherman was reeling in his catch on Sunday when a dark fin and a pair of jaws popped up out of the water and bit his fish clean in half! The water is only about 3 feet deep there. Don't dangle your toes in those waters!

Shark Attacks Rowing Team


A 12 foot shark attacked a rowing team in New Zealand this morning. The shark briefly circled the boat before making its attack, ramming into the boat, sending it rocking. The two team members quickly got into the well of the boat and tried to not move or make a sound. The attack continued for the next 15 minutes leaving the rowers shell shocked. One of the rowers considered taping a gas cooking canister to a flare and trying to shoot it ‘Jaws’ style but decided against that idea. Help finally arrived 6 hours later!

There's been so many great white shark sightings along Australian beaches that they've decided to install a steel mesh shark barrier at the city's most popular beach, West Beach. 12 months ago a great white killed 18-year-old surfer Nick Peterson just off West Beach and there have been 29 shark sightings off metropolitan beaches in the past six months! Wild seahorses couldn't drag me into those waters!
